For you in Asia, Sony has just launched its latest Handycam HDR-GW77. Video camera is designed to hold in all conditions when outdoors. Sony HDR-GW77 is a rugged video camera that is similar to Sony GW55, the difference with before is the addition of 16GB of internal memory in addition to external memory support.
You can capture a moment in deep water, the camcorder is able to survive in the water to a depth of 5 meters. In addition, the HDR-GW77 was designed to survive if dropped from a height of up to 1.5 meters and dustproof. Rugged camera from Sony is equipped with 20.4-megapixel Exmor R CMOS sensor and is supported by Sony G Lens that can deliver 10x of optical zoom.
Sony HDR-GW77 capable of recording 1920 x 1080/50p Full HD video with MPEG4-AVC or H.264 AVCHD format. The rugged camcorder features Optical SteadyShot with Active Mode which allows video recordings to get a more stable and smooth. Many features are available to assist in making the video, such as Swing Panorama and Highlight Playback.
Sony HDR-GW77 comes with a 3-inch Xtra Fine LCD touchscreen display that makes it easy to see the video directly. You can edit and manage your video or images directly with PlayMemories Home Software. The camcorder will coming at Hong Kong in June and offered to HK$5,980 or US$770. Source Sony HK
